Artist Spotlight: Danielle
As our artist community continues to grow, we’re having a blast highlighting our creative partners. Everyone comes from different backgrounds and has their own styles, inspirations, and process. We love seeing all of the ways that artists interpret the world around them. For this artist spotlight, we’ll dive into Danielle Clough’s work.
Danielle (@fiance_knowles) is known for her colorful creations. Each vibrant stitch creates a playful image that draws in the viewer and sticks with them. When we first discovered Danielle’s art, we were entranced by the intricate details, ambitious projects, and clear passion for the craft.
Based in Cape Town, Danielle has had a long career in the arts. She began as a video jockey, creating immersive videos for live music performances. Since then, she has dabbled in photography and design, and now focuses on her embroidery. Her unique style places a modern spin on the craft, playing with color, textures, and mediums (one of our favorite innovations is her tennis racket embroidery).
Not only is Danielle focused on her own personal projects, but she has also embraced the role as an educator. She has taught around the world, sharing her process with passionate embroiderers. In addition to her in-person workshops, she also teaches online courses, making her work and expertise more accessible to all.
Now, we are honored to be working with Danielle on an art retreat at O House this November. Hue Knew? A Playful Journey in Thread & Color, will take place from November 7 - 13, 2026. In this hands-on retreat, Danielle will focus on finding inspiration and translating this into your stitching. She will also guide participants through colorwork, helping each artist elevate their embroidery with the help of in-depth demonstrations and instruction.
