FELICIA’S ILLUSTRATION RETREAT

• Start your day with an optional wellness session designed to wake up your mind, body, and soul.

• After a tasty continental breakfast, kick things off with an illustration workshop. This first class is designed to ease you into the flow of things. You’ll get to know your cohort, then Felicia will walk you through one of her sketchbooks, explaining her process. Then, you’ll engage in a hands-on color book activity.

• Relax, chat, and enjoy a tasty lunch prepared in-house by our private chef.

• In the afternoon, head to a local ceramics studio for a fun raku class. Tap into your creative side through a different medium than sketching as you play with clay and glazes. This class aims to complement the work you are doing in Felicia’s workshops by inspiring creativity and play.

• Close out the day with a hearty dinner cooked in-house by our private chef.

• Prepare yourself for the day ahead with a meditative wellness session. Wake up your body and mind, ground yourself in the present, and enjoy the beauty of intentional movement.

• After breakfast, you will receive your very own sketchbook. The morning’s workshop will take you through some of the first steps to filling it out. Felicia will lead a drawing warm up, followed by a class on color palettes and different mediums that you can explore.

• Once you wrap up the class, the next several hours are yours to spend as you please. You may lounge at the pool and rest, or head into town to explore Ericeira’s charming streets and stunning beaches.

• Lunch is on your own today - a chance to explore Ericeira’s fantastic selection of restaurants.

• In the afternoon, return to O House for an optional workshop on one point perspective. With Felicia’s expert guidance, you’ll learn the ins and outs of this valuable sketching skill.

• Enjoy a satisfying dinner cooked in-house by our private chef.

• Start the day with a cup of coffee and tasty breakfast, then learn how to start a composition in the morning’s workshop. Felicia will lead you through the important steps, providing personalized feedback and tips as you go.

• After the workshop, you will head into Lisbon for a day of exploration and discovery. You’ll start at a local art store, packed with supplies and inspiration. Wander the aisles, brainstorm future projects, and enjoy the time with your cohort.

• Enjoy lunch in Lisbon at a local restaurant.

• In the afternoon, you will tour one of Lisbon’s iconic monuments. Immerse yourself in the city’s rich history as you explore and snap photos.

• Return to O House for a delicious dinner.

• Get a slower start to the day with a late breakfast, allowing you to rest up and reset.

• Following breakfast, you will have the option to share some of your work thus far in a supportive and collaborative environment. Felicia will also teach how to shade with a marker and glaze with color.

• Enjoy lunch at O House, then return to your sketchbook. In this exciting class, you will flip back to the first page, intentionally left empty. Now, equipped with new techniques and confidence, you are ready to fill in the page. Felicia will provide guidance and support throughout the entire process.

• In the evening, find peace and stillness in a guided sound bathing experience. Perfect to cap off a busy day, sound bathing is designed to help you completely relax and let go. Drift into a calm state as your worries slip away, and go into dinner feeling renewed.

• End the day with a satisfying dinner at O House, courtesy of our private chef.

• Start your morning right with a relaxing yoga session and head to breakfast feeling refreshed and inspired for the day’s activities.

• Jump into the final workshop of the retreat, in which you will share your sketchbooks with the group. However much or little you want to share is up to you.

• Enjoy a satisfying lunch at O House prepared by our private chef.

• Celebrate the cumulation of the retreat with a wine tasting at a local vineyard, where you will treat yourself to delicious Portuguese wines while you enjoy your newfound community.

• Gather back at O House for a celebratory dinner cooked by our private chef - a moment to share stories, memories, and gratitude.

• We’ll close the night under the stars with a cozy bonfire - the perfect ending to an unforgettable journey.

• Wake up feeling proud of your achievements; over the past several days, you have honed your illustration skills, met like-minded artists from around the world, and given yourself a well-deserved break.

• Taking into account early departures, there are no structured activities today. Breakfast will be included.

• We will transfer you to the airport for your departure, ensuring a stress-free transition back into your day-to-day life.

Do I need to have previous illustration experience?

What can I expect to learn from these workshops?
Felicia’s workshops will cover a variety of sketching and illustration techniques. You will learn how to set up a color palette, incorporate different mediums, utilize one point perspective, start a composition, shade and color your work, and format a sketchbook. You will also have plenty of opportunities to ask your burning illustration questions.

Do I need to bring my own art materials?

Do you offer airport transfer?
Yes! Airport transfers are included in the ticket price.

What does a typical day look like?
Although each day looks different, there are some core themes and activities throughout each day of the retreat. Most days start with an optional wellness session, allowing you to ease into the morning with gentle movement. We provide a continental breakfast each day, which is then followed by a art workshop, O House activity, or free time. We will then have lunch cooked in-house by our private chef, followed by another activity block, which will either be another workshop, activity, or free time. Finally, we wrap up with dinner and warm conversation with friends.

How do I reserve my spot?
We handle all bookings over email. All you have to do is click on one of the “Book Now” buttons and follow the prompts to send your message. We’ll be in touch shortly to answer questions and get you all registered!

How does the Payment Plan work?Provided that you book your spot at least four months in advance, you may choose to take advantage of our payment plan. This plan spreads the payments into monthly installments of equal price. The number of installments depends on how far in advance you book your ticket.
